A Doce of Military Dicipline

March into Spring with Military Inspiration

A new necessity is now on my list--a military inspired jacket! Many think that military jackets are too similar to leather jackets, but let me inform you differently!

Recently spotted draped across the shoulders of Beyonce and fashion icon Victoria Beckman, military jackets are making appearances! Available in fabrics from leather to suade, this staple piece can be girly and chic or found with a rocker inspired edge.

Beyonce's Balmain crystal embellished jacket proves that diva and military work together to create a fashion explosion! This jacket is not only sharp and clean cut looking due to the solid black tone and the diagonal cut, but the beautiful crystals add a splash of feminity and spunk. Paired with her dark wash jeans Beyonce lets the jacket do all the commanding by toning down the rest of her outfit with solid colors and textures.

Victoria Beckham's military look goes in a different direction- punk. The leather and extremely structured shoulders creates an avante-garde look, however the small buttons and tailored fit keep the look in line and not too busy. Paired with bleach wash skinny jeans and black accesories the look stays structured but stands out.

Whether you're looking for a casual jacket with a trendy edge or a clean cut, tailored jacket- military styles are available in denim, wool, leather and suade! Check out the many styles and brands creating a must have look this spring and march into the fashion rhythm with this item!

Head Turning Trend: Textured Head Wraps

Who: DVF

Turn heads this season with a splash of color by wearing decorative, fun headbands! We've all seen the braided pleather headbands at Forever 21 that literally everyone is wearing, but set yourself apart from the mainstream and step into a new realm of hair accessories that will give you a chic and unique look! Of course I'm referring to the one who knows best (and my favorite) Diane von Furstenberg!

Known for her impeccable understanding of feminine looks, DVF has created stunning head wear that is sure to give you a bold entrance this season!

At DVF's 2009 fashion show during Fashion Week, her models wore extra long, bright headbands with feathers, beads, knots and flowers. They were paired with both casual ensembles as well as evening gowns, showing their versatility! Whether you have a bohemian look in mind, or are going for a sophisticated-chic look, this accessory will, no doubt, work for you! Diane's head wear is essential for summer outtings and days by the beach and can be paired with bermudas and gladiators or those little black dresses for a splash of color! These headbands are sure to not only secure your locks, but more importantly will secure your position on the 'best dressed list' of everyone who spots you wearing this flirty, head turning trend!

Seeing New Trends

Tortoise Shell Shades and Frames

Classy, thick rimmed, tortoise shell sunglasses and frames are stealing the spotlight this spring! This 'blast from the past' Ray-Ban trend, once sported by the oh-so-beautiful Audrey Hepburn and Jackie O, has been spotted on the runways at this season's fashion week and is being made popular by Ralph Lauren, Celine, Cavalli and other A-list designers. This item follows a much occurring theme centered on the 50's, 70's and 80's for this season!

No matter what shape or hue you are looking for, the right pair of tortoise shell sunglasses are out there for you! Large square and circle shaped glasses are filling the shelves at stores like Urban and Free People and best part is...most are very affordable! This accessory will be a fun addition to any outfit and will help you make a bright entrance as you jump into summer! The best part is...they are and are extremely practical- how could you pass that up!
